Recently, I was in charge of Joseph's Joy School where I entertained 6 children in between 2 and 3 and one almost one year old. (Derek) We had a great time learning about the letter B. We played with bubbles, balloons, butterflies, books, bananas, blueberry bagels, and boats. They were so much fun, but I have to admit wore me out!
Here are some fun recent pictures of Derek, who somehow grows cuter by the minute!! Every time I take my boys somewhere I get so many comments about my little toe-heads.
Derek is turning one on the 28th and he
is already saying so many words. He can
tell you the sounds of the monkey, dog,
cow, chick, tiger, and elephant. We
practice animal sounds while I am
changing his diaper so he holds still!
He's such a sport!

I love taking pictures of Joseph when he is asleep. Derek is a lighter sleeper so can be tricky, but Joseph as you can see is OUT! He always falls asleep with his purple cow that Grandma King gave him for his one year old birthday. He has become quite attached to it. Every night he insists that we sing the "Cow" song which is Old MacDonald. He uses cows tail to tickle his ear while he is falling asleep. He loves to tell cow what to do. For example, when he tells cow to dance, cow dances. He tries to do this with Derek as well. Sometimes Derek will obey, but sometimes Derek has his own plan and Joseph gets really frustrated. Why can't Derek be more like cow?
Now that we are in a big house it is so much easier to get the boys down for naps and bedtime at the same time. I love my two hours of nap time each day. Unfortunately, it barely gives me enough time to do chores, bills, and sometimes I sneak in some Pilates/Yoga time or a power nap if needed.

a flooded kitchen!

Joseph Wayne - my wonderful adorable 2 year old decided that the kitchen needed to be watered the same way as the grass yesterday. Here's the story. So, I brought some toys out of the backyard for the boys to play with. I did not take the time to put the adult lock back on the back door. (My fault) I went upstairs for JUST a couple minutes to slap some make-up on and hadn't got to the put my hair in a pony tail part yet, when I heard baby Derek screaming downstairs. I started coming downstairs to check on them and hear water pouring out somewhere. (Uh-oh moment) I come into the kitchen and see Joseph with the hose going full blast onto my kitchen floor!!! Ahhh! I grabbed the hose and turned it off as I raced around the house trying to find every towel and blanket possible. Luckily our house is on a slight slant towards the pantry so it did not go onto the carpet. My wonderful neighbor and friend Liz, who was coming over for a nice relaxing playdate, ended up spending the morning helping soak up my floor and move my appliances to get under them. Wow! Joseph and I had a little discussion about how the hose water stays on the grass. I just kept reminding myself all day about how much I love my two year old son even though he does some things that torture me at times!!!
