Our Derek

Derek is so much fun! One thing he likes to do is follow the rules! If you tell him he can have milk after he eats all his food and you accidentally give it to him when he's not quite finished, he will say, "No, take that away! I'm not finished yet!" The other day I was preparing the boys plates and decided to put a cup of applesauce on them for their fruit, Derek noticed the applesauce and said excitedly, "Is this for if I eat all my food?!" I really hadn't planned on saying that, but I was thinking good idea, sure! Derek immediately removed the applesauce from his plate and said don't give this to me yet! I need to finish my food first!

To top it all off, I had bought some cookies for family home evening and Derek brought the package to me asking if he could have one. I told him he could have some for family night. He then responded, "ok, then put them up high so I can't reach them, ok?!"

Our boys are so precious and so excited for the baby that is due in the next 6-7 weeks!

call for help!

So last night we took the boys over to grammy's(Wayne's mom) house while we went to movie and a dinner with the King family and the boys fell asleep right before we went to pick them up. We brought them back to grandma's(Amy's mom) house and put them in bed. The next morning Wayne and I went to an early morning temple session and Joseph woke up scared and confused because he wasn't at grammy's house anymore, the house was dark and he couldn't find anyone. So, what did he do??? He found the phone and dialled 911!!! Grandpa heard him and walked in to hear him on the phone with the 911 operator telling them how scared he was. He said he had to call the fireman because he was so scared! Well, I only remember telling him about 911 once, but apparantly he remembered!
